Kadhafi Promises Victory Amid Ongoing Western Assault


On the fourth day of UN-backed military strikes on Libya, leader Moamer Kadhafi promised his supporters victory, saying the country was "ready for battle".Meanwhile coalition airstrikes were reported overnight Tuesday near the city of Misrata, east of the capital.Television footage showed Kadhafi rallying supporters at his Bab Al-Aziziyah compound in Tripoli, which was the target of a coalition missile strike.Meanwhile rebels said they had been under intense attack in their Misrata enclave, where four children were killed on Tuesday.A standoff persisted in eastern Libya, where Kadhafi forces in and around Ajdabiya, south of Benghazi, fought off attempts by the rebels to advance.

Meanwhile, US President Barack Obama, due in Washington on Wednesday after cutting short a Latin American trip, said he expected "clarity" on the future command structure of allied military operations in the next few days.

ELIZABETH Taylor, the legendary Hollywood actress and violet-eyed beauty who captured hearts in “National Velvet” to launch a film career that spanned five decades, has died. She was aged 79.
According to a report by Agence France Presse {AFP} quoting a family statement, Taylor had been in Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Hospital for six weeks with congestive heart failure, a condition with which she had struggled for some years and had recently suffered complications.

As the nation prepares to go to the poll by April there has been great campaign round the federation, News Buffet sources has always bring to you latest happen in Nigeria-Abuja on 48 hours ago another crisis evolved  in Jos leaving at least three people feared killed and several others injured at the Farin Gada tomato market, Jos during a clash between two religious sects , following the killing of a man on his farm.News Buffet gathered that the corpse of the man who was allegedly killed on Monday morning was brought into the tomatoes market by members of his family. The sight made the people to suspect his death was the fallout of the Sunday clash, following which a free-for-all ensued.

Oil Price Hike, Threat to the Economy - Sanusi

News Buffet —Lagos Brent crude for April delivery was up 86 cents to $115.65 per barrel (pb) at the weekend but the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) warned that the higher oil prices and government spending will worsen inflation.

Nigeria, Africa 's top oil producer, relies on oil proceeds to service more than 90 per cent of its budget and CBN Governor Lamido Sanusi said high oil prices are making his job "more difficult."
